We educate and advise: Leadership and staff of both HHS and sub-cabinet agencies such as AHRQ, CMS, FDA, and HRSA, and leading market access organizations on reimbursement, coverage, and coding issues of existing products and products in the laboratory and the pipeline for our clients. We supplement our education and advocacy with strong intelligence gathering, a solid knowledge of agency policies and practices, personal relationships and a course of action, strategies and tactics derived from singularly focused experience.
We monitor and plan for change: We evaluate and analyze legislation, rules and regulations; health care reform timelines, processes and impacts; and assess the impact of local and national, public and private payer, health care coverage and financing proposals on particular products or portfolios and services.
We analyze and optimize markets: We develop landscape assessments mindful of evolving legislative and regulatory policies and national and local coverage trends; facilitate advisory boards, focus groups, and interviews with payer decision makers to assess issues and formulate strategies; utilize assessments to optimally position products (formulary kits, product positioning within evolving health policy); analyze coding scenarios and develop strategic product positioning within the American Medical Association (AMA) CPT and RUC, CMS, and key medical specialty organizations; and create strategic solutions that complement marketing initiatives.
We analyze and change policy: We advance strategic policy plans with appropriate agencies (CMS, AHRQ, state agencies, and targeted payers); cultivate patient and professional advocacy support to address policy changes, as well as engendering support from legislative or even regulatory allies; create model legislation, regulations, local and national coverage policies; and develop strategic positioning, planning, timing and targets to address Medicare, Medicaid, workers compensation or private payer access issues.
We work with the investment community to identify potentially material changes in the regulatory and reimbursement environments faced by health care companies; and assess problems and opportunities in potential health care investments before the beginning of active due diligence.
